South Asia is a vast and highly diverse region of 1.5 billion people. Despite the widespread coverage of India's economic rise in the last decade and the sporadic attention paid to Pakistan as a less than stable, conflict prone nuclear nation, the region continues to be poorly understood in the world.
In this blog I aim to introduce readers to thoughtful perspectives on politics, policy (foreign and domestic), history, culture and people of South Asia with particular emphasis on India and Pakistan. The objective is not to be a news source but to bring to the readers pieces that reflect the best current thinking on South Asia. Of course any such endeavor reflects the sensibilities of the editor and this blog will be no different.
